From a young age, I knew I wanted to spend my life telling stories. Growing up in a small town in rural Kansas, newspapers and magazines offered me a glimpse into what was happening in the rest of the nation and around the world. I developed a natural curiosity that — along with my knack for storytelling and learned watchdog reporting skills — has fueled my decade-long career in the journalism industry. In May 2023, I began reporting for Military Times about disinformation and anti-democratic extremism among military and veteran communities. The position runs through the 2024 presidential election and is funded with grants from the Knight Foundation, the Craig Newmark Philanthropies and the MacArthur Foundation.
